The killing of boat strike survivors story is rapidly metastasizing into the one that actually might bring down the T administration. The news that Congress will be vigorously investigating the murders/war crimes should set the WH off into deep panic mode. thehill.com/… It also sheds light on some other news that has dominated recently. One such news item being the “you don’t have to follow illegal orders” video released by, among others, Sen. Mark Kelly and Sen. Elise Slotkin. www.usatoday.com/...What those two also have in common is that they both sit on the Senate Armed Services Committee, the body that will be investigating the boat strikes. www.armed-services.senate.gov/...As members of that Committee they no doubt received briefings about those strikes that predate the video. One may easily infer that those briefings alarmed the lawmakers to such a degree that they felt duty bound to make the video reminding military personnel that they don’t have to follow illegal orders. It may be that one key member of the military has already resigned rather than follow illegal orders. The US Southern Commander, Admiral Alvin Hosley, responsible for overseeing operations in Central and South America resigned abruptly in October amid concerns about the nature of operations in that region. www.nytimes.com/… In addition, PBS reports that military personnel are seeking legal advice as they become increasingly concerned about the legality of Trump’s military missions, including National Guard deployment and Caribbean activity. www.pbs.org/...There is near unanimty that the strikes are illegal. www.justsecurity.org/...Finally, the politics. The investigation into the boat strikes is bipartisan and bicameral, evidence that R’s are finally willing to defy T. Some R’s today have even gone so far as saying that the strikes could very well be war crimes. www.nytimes.com/...Oh, and the Epstein files are coming...tick...tick...tick.
