The Daily Kos Backyard Science Yardbird Race is a birding competition where, over the course of one year, participants strive to identify the most bird species - by sight and/or by sound - from the confines of their yards. Everyone who is participating in the race will be an editor of the group, which will be a place for announcements about tallies, as well as a place where everyone can access the information that we've all gathered over the year.

The Cranky Users group was founded in 2011 for DKos users who thought DK4 was scary or weird or hard to figure out. We made our way through DK4 and DK5, and now we're back! Progressive politics in the Keystone State!

This is an artists' working group that contributes art and poetry to Daily Kos Art Salons and Daily Kos Art Expos. As you can tell from the URL, we began in 2109. Intermittent salons throughout the year, perhaps we will settle into Second Sunday Art Salons beginning in June 2020.

Koscadia Stretches from the coastal forests of Northern California up the coast West of the Cascades well into British Columbia where the Temperate Zone changes into the Subartic Zone. And of course we are inclusive of those East of the ranges as well. Where Progressivism and Democracy are a way of life.

A group for people in pain and for people who support them. Mental, physical, and/or emotional pain and/or disability are all relevant topics for discussion. We are particularly concerned about the treatment of pain patients, which often involves treating patients like they're guilty (of drug addiction) until proven innocent. We know we are in a marathon, not a sprint, so we need to take care of ourselves to take care of our neighbors and our world. The Regenerative Culture for an Altered Planet group is intended to joyfully embrace diversity and to care for the physical, mental, emotional, and cultural needs of all those who are building a better world. We are solutions focused.

The SciTech group is dedicated to the exploration of Science and Technology. We welcome all diaries, essays, and discussions that teach or explain the wonders of the universe.
