Thanksgiving is over, our meals are forgotten.

Turkey with cranberry stuffing and pie a la mode.

Any Lucía López Belloza a 19-year-old

On her way home she was arrested put on hold.

Born in Honduras, arrived in 20-14

A seven year old refugee and Texas queen

Honduras was unsafe, her family was here.

She dreamed of college and starting a career

Any excelled in high school, a real Texas girl,

For two American sisters, she was a pearl

She earned a scholarship go to Babson in Mass.

She worked so hard and did well in every class.

ICE put chains on her ankles. Handcuffs on her wrists.

Feared a nineteen year old girl going to resist.

ICE broke the law, there’s no order to deport her.

There’s no reason to send her South of the border.

Homeland Security claims order was issued

An immigration judge said the family must go

In 20-15 when she Any was only eight.

But ICE cannot find the papers that give the date.

Any deport violated a new court order

That a federal judge signed in November

Said Ms. López could not be removed from U.S.

But ICE at the airport ignored pain and distress.

Trump pardons the criminals, drug dealers and thieves

The wealthy pay for freedom and walk out with glees

While Any cries and the Lopez family grieves

And Homeland Security ignores all their pleas.
