As you know, Editorial Cartoonist Clay Jones is recovering from a stroke, but has started posting again on DK and elsewhere.
As soon I found out about his stroke, I posted a fundraising diary on October 11th — Please Help Editorial Cartoonist Clay Jones Recover from a Stroke.
The GoFundMe page set up by two of his colleagues — Jack Ohman (DK profile) and Kevin Necessary — has raised $69,276 or over 69% of the $100,000 fundraising goal as of today.

Please help Clay fully recover and increase his online cartooning activities. Prior to his stroke, few cartoonists were as prolific as Clay. He is a relentless pursuer of the truth.

Hypocrites, Liars, and Criminals

Does anyone in this sham of an administration have any morals or practice ethics?
From Stephen Miller to Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and Trump, this group consists of individuals who seem out of touch with the growing disdain the country has for them. They appear to be a collection of losers, grifters, liars, and fools.
There is a limit to how much disingenuous rhetoric one can spew before the public turns against you. If the Ukraine-Russia War cannot be resolved on the first day you take office, it is important to acknowledge this. If inflation and consumer prices cannot be controlled in a reasonable timeframe, admitting it is not a weakness. If you cannot provide a credible alternative to Obamacare for the healthcare issues we face, that needs to be recognized. Similarly, insisting that tariffs are not taxes will be met with disagreement from anyone with a basic understanding of economics. Economic realities have a way of catching up with falsehoods, no matter how often they are repeated.
Importantly, no one should allow Trump and his lackeys to make decisions about life and death without legal constraints. If Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is guilty of war crimes, he should be held accountable as a war criminal. There is a long history of rules, regulations, and laws that have developed over the centuries, or in other words, a code of conduct. Previous administrations have adhered to these guidelines, and so should this group.
We must demand nothing less.
As the GOP's future political prospects look increasingly bleak, Republicans’ behavior is growing more erratic. Following a series of special elections this year, there has been a noticeable decline in Republican support compared to their 2024 performance. This trend is becoming clear to Republican members of Congress, who are beginning to acknowledge this reality. Premature resignations, with more anticipated in the coming weeks and months, suggest that a blue tsunami is forming and could become unstoppable. The US House of Representatives — and perhaps even the US Senate — looks within reach of the Democratic Party in the 2026 Midterm Elections.
I’ll be sorry to see Republicans lose their grip on power. It couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people.
