Trump’s Approval Rating Dips as Views of His Handling of the Economy Sour

The shift, while small, is notable after months of stability in President Trump’s approval rating.

Favorable views of the president’s job performance have slipped in recent weeks, as disapproval has grown, leaving the president with a net approval rating that is underwater by 14 percentage points, a widening gap from 10 percentage points just weeks ago, according to The New York Times’s polling average.

Although the shift is relatively small, it is notable after months of stability in Mr. Trump’s approval rating.

Poll: Trump's own voters begin blaming him for affordability crisis

Americans continue to say affordability is out of control, and they place the responsibility on Trump, The POLITICO Poll found.

New polling shows many Americans have begun to blame President Donald Trump for the high costs they’re feeling across virtually every part of their lives — and it’s shifting politics.

Almost half — 46 percent — say the cost of living in the U.S. is the worst they can ever remember it being, a view held by 37 percent of 2024 Trump voters. Americans also say that the affordability crisis is Trump’s responsibility, with 46 percent saying it is his economy now and his administration is responsible for the costs they struggle with.

TN-07 comes in strong for Democrats. No upset, not strong enough to overcome a 22 point Trump district with the Republicans winning by single digits, but an excellent showing for Aftyn Behn (D) and an embarrassing one for Matt Van Epps (R).

Good news for 2026 as Democrats continue to overperform.

Lawmakers Suggest Follow-Up Boat Strike Could Be a War Crime

Top Republicans have joined Democrats in demanding answers about the escalating military campaign the Trump administration says is aimed at targeting drug traffickers.

“Obviously if that occurred, that would be very serious, and I agree that that would be an illegal act,” Representative Mike Turner, Republican of Ohio and a former chairman of the Intelligence Committee, said on “Face the Nation” on CBS.

Senator Tim Kaine, Democrat of Virginia, said on CBS that if the report was accurate, the attack “rises to the level of a war crime.” And on CNN, when asked if he believed a second strike to kill survivors constituted a war crime, Senator Mark Kelly, Democrat of Arizona, answered, “It seems to.”
