Good morning, folks. I don’t know if you have seen snow yet this season—or even if you typically do—but I just came in from traipsing through about eight inches of white stuff when it’s eight below zero outside. The birds aren’t going to feed themselves. Well, okay, maybe they can but it’s fun to watch them eat from my living room.

I’m already catching a large doe noshing off my bird feeding stump. I knock on the nearest window and yell. She looks at me, but as is typical of the local deer, she’s not the least bit scared. I have to hurry outside and flail my arms around to get her to run off. It gets tiresome.

Good day, Peeps. How’s December treating you? Are your pets doing okay?

A gentle reminder of how we do things:

Do not troll the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.

Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.

Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Birds... are birds! Peeps are people.

Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. If you’re having “issues” with another Kossack, keep it “out there.” This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.

There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated. If we alert you to it, please remember that we do have phobic peeps who react strongly to them. If you keep posting banned pics...well then...the Tigress will have to take matters in hand. Or, paw.

I’m already tired of this Winter weather. It wasn’t that frigid last night but for the past couple of hours it’s been getting windy and colder again. Beware of clear and windy Winter nights. Our low is going to be well below zero. Mark my words, this snow we have on the ground is going to be here until at least April.

Also, at least one deer has been gobbling up my birdseed. It happened again this morning. Since it’s supposed to be so cold tonight I put a few apples back out under the apple tree. I also put a protein bar out there. I hope that keeps the bambis out back.

We got a bit of snow yesterday. It’s still coming down at three in the morning. I’m not sure how much we got. Maybe five or six inches. With the cold weather in our forecast this white stuff is likely to stay for some time. I guess I could stick my bike in the garage until Spring.

Also, my kitty Rogan seemed to have discovered my aquarium this morning. I caught him on his hind legs peering into it when I got up this morning. Quite an observant cat I’ve got. He has only been living with me for two and a half years.
