For those not in the know, Olivia Nuzzi was a “reporter” for New York Magazine, and her beat was to cover politics, especially the 2024 Presidential Election. However, Nuzzi “fell in love” with RFK Jr., and the two carried on what might be called a cyber affair. There was sexting involved too. Well, Nuzzi didn’t tell her bosses at New York Magazine because it’s technically a no-no to be involved with a subject you are reporting on.
Yeah, Nuzzi is more than ethically challenged.
What makes this situation worse is that Nuzzi also spent her time giving political advice to RFK Jr. Now, we are into brother Chris Cuomo territory with Andrew Cuomo. But it is later revealed that Nuzzi was and still is sitting on a treasure trove of shitty information about her former lover, which she purposefully withheld from American voters. Additionally, Nuzzi spent the rest of her time trashing President Joe Biden for being too old and sleepy.
Biden may have been old, but he wasn’t a drug addict like RFK Jr. who claimed to being clean, when in fact he just switched from heroin to another drug instead. The dribs and drabs of damaging information on RFK Jr. is that he has taken up smoking DMT, dimethyltryptamine, which is a drug similar to magic mushrooms. Nuzzi states that RFK Jr. has been keeping this a secret from his own wife.
OK Merlin1963. You might be thinking, “Nuzzi shouldn’t be working for any news organization.” But she did hide this from her bosses. So where is the media corruption?
Vanity Fair hired Nuzzi to be their West Coast Editor in September of this year.
Yes, some big outfit decided that that it needed Nuzzi as an EDITOR. I suppose the geniuses at Vanity Fair thought no one would notice. Besides, Nuzzi had written a book about the whole thing, and I’m sure it was going to draw a lot of positive attention and rewards to Vanity Fair.

None of what Nuzzi wrote in the book helped her out. But like every other from D.C. wanting to push a newly written book, Nuzzi decided to brave the lion’s den of The Bulwark to answer questions from Tim Miller. And Miller asked a very obvious question. Basically, why didn’t she rat out RFK Jr. when he was nominated by Trump to be HHS Secretary?
It went very badly for Nuzzi. She couldn’t give a good answer, and she asked to pause the interview while she started to tear up.
I think the above mess was the final straw for Vanity Fair because they fired Nuzzi TODAY!
NEW YORK (AP) — Vanity Fair is parting ways with West Coast editor Olivia Nuzzi amid ongoing controversy over her relationship with profile subject Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while she was the Washington correspondent for New York magazine.
A joint statement Friday from the magazine and Nuzzi said that they “have mutually agreed, in the best interest of the magazine, to let her contract expire at the end of the year.” She had been hired as its West Coast editor in September.
Nuzzi, 32, had been a star reporter for New York magazine known for colorful political profiles until the fall of 2024, when it was revealed she had an intense personal relationship with Kennedy, a presidential candidate at the time she wrote about him and now head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Nuzzi was fired by New York for not disclosing her relationship.
She lasted a little over three months with Vanity Fair. The fact is SHE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN HIRED BY VANITY FAIR! But I am betting the reason Nuzzi was hired in the first place is because Nuzzi had ACCESS to someone in the Trump Administration.
With the 24/7 news cycle, IT’S ALWAYS ABOUT A REPORTER’S ACCESS TO THE POWERFUL IN D.C. It’s not the North Star with news organizations. It’s the damn Sun and the Moon to the media. To keep that access, reporters will do anything, even letting their sources burn them.
And we have a man who is manifestly unfit presiding over American’s health who has already gotten children killed with his anti-vaccines bullshit. This could have been stopped if Nuzzi had the courage to out RFK Jr. But NO! Nuzzi loses her job, and her career goes into the tank instead.
And all of Nuzzi’s colleagues are pissing and shitting on her while she circles the toilet.
America may love a comeback story, but some comebacks are God awful and dangerous (Trump for one). As someone who has had at least two career paths implode, I would normally be sympathetic to a comeback story. But people’s lives are at stake, and I have no empathy for Nuzzi.
This should be a lesson to reporters, but the corporate owned media will always force reporters to buddy up to the rich and powerful for a story. It’s all about ratings and subscriptions. And that is the real corruption in our legacy media.
