Welcome to Street Prophets Sunday Coffee Hour. This is an open thread so grab something to drink and sit a spell and let us know what is new with you. I have always said the most important person in my life was my second grade teacher Mrs. Bluestein. She wrote on my report card "take a look at her art!" She started me on the road to being an artist. I work in graphic art and in acrylics. Here are some of paintings with my thoughts on them.
Silver Moon
I frequently combine my love of space with my fascination of oceans. Here a cloudy sunset is opening up to the night sky.
Twister
I lived in Indiana for a while caring for my mother. I heard the tornado warning alerts too often.
Desert Sunrise
I lived in New Mexico as a child and loved the desert. I get a bit emotional on this one because it was one of the last paintings I did before Reid passed away and he really loved it.
House of the Rising Sun
I loved the way the colors blended. The picture has a peaceful feel to it.
Candle in the Wind
This was my tribute to my brother Reid after I lost him. He loved the color pink.
Birth of a Star
I am a huge fan of astronomy.
Lavender Fields
I know lavender doesn't grow in fields but I clain artistic license on this one.
Lightening Strike
I have experienced some pretty fierce storms.
Autumn Leaf
Autumn is my favorite season.
Old Wooden Bridge
This is my favorite painting. Just imagine what stories it could tell if it was sentient.
