The demolition of the East Wing of the White House is symbolic of Trump’s impact on America. Our political climate, our democracy, and our moral standing in the world have all suffered crippling body blows. One way to measure the damage Trump has already done (and is still doing) is to ask yourself this question: “How many people have had their lives ruined because of Trump’s bullying, nastiness, and Mafia-like governance.”
The following is just a partial list of the millions of people negatively affected by Trump:
- Jeff Flake, Liz Cheney, and current Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene are just three of the many public servants whose careers have been destroyed by Trump’s one-way loyalty.
- Hundreds of individuals and institutions (420 cases and counting) have been the legal target of Trump’s “retribution” campaign and now must deal with the financial burden of those lawsuits.
- Thousands of Federal employees have been fired, or had to resign, because of Trump’s animosity toward DEI.
- Six members of Congress are now suffering the stress of being accused of “treason” by Trump (i.e., because of the video they broadcast about illegal military orders).
- Military officers and the low-level individuals who were involved in the Venezuelan airstrikes are potentially subject to prosecution for war crimes and/or murder.
- All over America, people are no longer served by the myriad of Federal programs gutted by DOGE.
- Women have already died — or will die — because of the anti-abortion policies advocated by Trump and his evangelical supporters.
- An increasing number of family farmers are going bankrupt or are committing suicide because of Trump’s tariffs.
- Small businesses are struggling to stay alive because of the negative impact of Trump’s economic policies or because of the military occupation of American cities.
- ICE and the Border Patrol have carte blanche to arrest and/or mistreat immigrants — and U.S. citizens — in multiple cities.
- Immigrants, living in fear all over the globe, are no longer being admitted to the safety of America because of Trump’s anti-immigration policies (or are too petrified to illegally cross the American border).
- Foreign students who had dreamed of coming to America to study have had to change those plans.
- Poor people in many foreign countries are starving to death because USAID was eliminated by Trump and DOGE’s chainsaw.
- Ukrainians, living and dead, have suffered because Trump refuses to supply Ukraine with the weapons it needs to defeat the Russians.
- At least 80 Venezuelans have been killed by U.S. airstrikes in the Caribbean. (And what will happen to the families they left behind?)
- In the future, how many people will die because the CDC and NIH no longer have the expertise or institutional knowledge to handle worldwide epidemics?
- And then there’s the issue of the skyrocketing national debt ($2.1 trillion in the past year). Thanks to Trump’s BBB, his billionaire pals are getting richer while the U.S. national debt has now reached $38.3 trillion. That’s a debt future generations will need to pay — somehow.
