Behind the scenes European leader have had their fill of Donald Trump and his Merry Band of Incompetents.
They need to start saying some of these things publicly.

"The United States has betrayed Ukraine and Europe" — these are the sentiments expressed by European leaders, according to the transcript of a phone call between the President of France, the German Chancellor, the President of Finland, the NATO Secretary General, and President Zelensky.

The situation in Pokrovsk is both disputed and complex, but it isn’t good.
x
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold the northern part of Pokrovsk, the battle is ongoing." - Warshall (and others)
This Warshall map does harm to Ukraine’s war effort because it bears no resemblance to the context of Syrskyi’s statement or the tactical reality in Pokrovsk.

Presenting the entire northern sector as “held” territory, in a words and images, creates a false impression of control that does not exist on the ground and contradicts every credible frontline assessment.2/8
More importantly, Syrskyi never made such a claim, yet Warshall and other pro-Ukrainian channels are repeating it as if he did. This kind of oversimplification misleads civilians and distorts public understanding of an already complex and deteriorating situation.
Syrskyi’s point was precise.3/8
Ukrainian units are holding defined areas inside the northern part of the city while the broader urban zone is contested and under constant Russian pressure. That is functional positional defense, not area control.4/8

Let’s check in on the Russian economy.
We might have an imminent major bank failure — unless the government intervenes.
x
🚨Major Russian bank failure imminent?
Credit Bank of Moscow, the 6th-largest bank in Russia by asset size with 5.45T rubles, has 668B rubles in overdue loans, 12.3% of assets.
That's massive. When Washington Mutual collapsed in 2008, nonperforming loans were 3.8% of assets.📉

RUSSIA IS SELLING GOLD AT A RATE OF $76.5m PER DAY
The national wealth fund it’s selling its gold off on a daily basis and intends to continue to do so until it’s gone, according to Russian sources. The Central
Bank is basically issuing ‘printed money’ to buy it. It’s not real notes but quite
— The Analyst (@militaryanalyst.bsky.social) December 4, 2025 at 10:05 AM
Literally the Central Bank creating the money on ‘the big computer’ by just adding more to the in-circulation figure. It has the same effect however, accelerating inflation pressures, and the cycle of economic decline. You cannot escape the fundamental basic laws of economics and monetary policy.
All they are doing is buying a few days at a time in the hope something happens to end the war their way. Frankly that’s so fundamentally unlikely they may as well be blowing in the wind. Nothing can stop what’s happening, it’s already too late.
I agree. Time to get the hell out.

CONFUSION OVER MYRONRAHD
Some Ukrainian sources are insistent that the town has been cut off and Ukrainian Marines are trapped there, others saying it’s still being supplied by drones and it’s not inescapable.
My view is if we have reached the point it’s not yet inescapable then it soon will be so
— The Analyst (@militaryanalyst.bsky.social) December 4, 2025 at 8:05 AM
it’s time to get out and as fast as possible - a move the Russians will no doubt be waiting for. They have been going out of their way to make the drone netted highways impossible by using thermite drones to burn the netting and remove the little protection they provide. Whatever Ukraine is going to do, as it barely holds any of Pokrovsk now, to get the survivors out of Myronrahd, surely it must happen very soon.
That drone engine is probably being put to good use running a pump or something.

The U.S. got hold of an Iranian Shahed drone and reverse engineered it to come up with LUCAS — Low-Cost Uncrewed Combat Attack System, which pretty much follows the Shahed design and can be produced for about $35k each.
They are intended to be used against Iran, but wouldn’t it be great to provide these to Ukraine — and let Russia know what attacks from scores of Shaheds is like?
SpektreWorks’ website provides basic specifications for a related target drone design called the FLM 136, which has a stated maximum range of 444 miles and can stay aloft for up to six hours. Its total payload capacity, not counting fuel, is 40 pounds, and it cruises at a speed of around 74 knots (with a dash speed of up to 105 knots). Whether these details reflect the capabilities of the operationalized LUCAS design is unclear.
For comparison, the baseline Shahed-136, which is powered by a small 50-horsepower internal combustion engine, has a top speed of around 100 knots (185 kilometers per hour) and a maximum range of approximately 1,242 miles (2,000 kilometers) while carrying an 88-pound (40-kilogram) warhead, according to the U.S. Army’s Operational Environment Data Integration Network (ODIN) training portal.

Seems kind of fitting.
It’s good that Ukraine might get access to these helicopters, but it would be even better if countries (not just Australia) would send the good stuff too. Like Apaches.
x
Australia is weighing whether to send retiring Tiger helicopters to Ukraine, as Kyiv requests additional military support. This would be separate from a new funding package expected soon. The Tiger helicopters are in the process of being retired as Australia transitions to the US-made Apache fleet.

So, 12 countries voted against a demand that Russia return all kidnapped children and another 57 abstained. Thankfully, the U.S. voted Yes, but you can never assume that these days.
There is something worse than being kidnapped and taken to Russia.
"The Regional Center for Human Rights documented 165 re-education camps where Ukrainian children are militarized and Russified. These camps exist in occupied territories, Russia, Belarus, and North Korea," Rashevska added in her testimony.
In a separate testimony provided by the Nathaniel Raymond, the Executive Director of the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab told congressional leaders that the organization now estimates that at least 35,000 remain in Russian custody, including those who have been sent to fight against their own country on the front line.
Ukrainian officials estimate the real figure of abducted children could be far higher. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets puts the number at up to 150,000, while Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Daria Herasymchuk has given a range of 200,000–300,000.
x
At the camp, the children were "taught to destroy Japanese militarists" & met North Korean veterans who captured the USS Pueblo in 1968—killing one American & holding 82 hostage for 11 months.
The ship still sits in Pyongyang. Now Ukrainian kids are told its captors are heroes.
