So, the last diary I could find was from tenacious12 in October of this year, www.dailykos.com/… , and didn’t mention a new USPS policy. I saw an article from WBAY 2 titled “USPS policy change on postmarks may affect property tax payments” and started thinking. Yeah, dangerous territory, I know! In the article, this jumped out at me:
In August 2025, the Postal Service instituted a nationwide change for when postmarks are affixed to incoming mail. Instead of postmarks being stamped when items are first handled by the Postal Service, postmarks are now applied at regional sorting centers.
Further research led me to the USPS Statement, and from there to the actual Federal Register posting of the final rule where I found thiks was, indeed, updated. I wonder if this is the real GOP backend play to suppress votes from mail-in ballots. Thoughts? Ideas?
