Hi, Peeps! I can’t believe we’re already at Krampusnacht. Back when Christmas was separate from SantyKlaus (St. Nick — feast day 12/6), this was the guy who punished the naughty children. Our furry friends have something to say about that.
But First:
A gentle reminder of how we do things: 🐱🐶🐦
- Do not troll the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
- Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.
- Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Birds... are birds! Peeps are people.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. If you’re having “issues” with another Kossack, keep it “out there.” This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos or videos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated. If we alert you to it, please remember that we do have phobic peeps who react strongly to them. If you keep posting banned pics...well then...the Tigress will have to take matters in hand. Or, paw.
According to Wikipedia, Krampus didn’t show up until the 16th century, for all the assertions that it was ancient myth. "“Krampus is usually featured as a man with horns with one grotesque human foot and one foot of a goat. He is typically covered in black hair and has a very long snake or dragon-like tongue.” He would carry off children who had misbehaved during the year.
That seems a lot more drastic than coal in the stocking! What would he do with all those kids, anyway? (Don’t ask, I suppose). But our furry friends remind us that it can be hard to judge, even if we hadn’t been warned “judge not, least ye be judged.”
Firstly, define “naughty”
Second — define consequences
Just being HELPFUL!
Would have eaten cleaned up the rest if not stopped.
(Some consequences have teeth)
And lastly, one must always weigh the occasional mistake against a year’s worth of snuggles, purrs, nuzzles, cuteness and petting opportunities!
Bellyrub!
Surely our furry friends deserve MANY gifties from St. Nicholas this year! And don’t you forget it!
(Note: I’m trying to figure out what the “Rec” button is used for here on DK, and I know it’s not just “I see you posted a reply”, so if I don’t Rec the single or few-word posts, it’s because I’m trying out the idea that it’s “I’m recommending others read this”…. what do YOU use the Rec button for?
